Licensed Addiction Counseling

Mary Sullivan, LCADC, MSW

Mary Sullivan, LCADC, is a dedicated addiction counselor with a wealth of experience spanning five years. Holding a Masters in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Rutgers University, she further honed her expertise by completing the Certificate of Addiction Counseling at Ocean County College. Mary's commitment to professional development is underscored by her recent accomplishment of obtaining the Licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor credential through the New Jersey State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Mary's therapeutic philosophy revolves around the principles of Motivational Interviewing, Compassionate Inquiry, and Mindfulness. These approaches, reflective of her own values and personality, create a therapeutic "dance" where clients lead, and together, they work on strategies to address the root causes of addiction. Mary strives to empower clients to heal from these underlying issues and construct meaningful lives.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mary actively advocates for women in recovery and tirelessly works to dismantle barriers to treatment. Drawing from her personal experiences overcoming challenges, she understands the difficulties of accessing affordable treatment and support. In her spare time, Mary volunteers for and initiated two Women for Sobriety support groups in Toms River, NJ, with aspirations for expansion. Her commitment to women's specialized needs is evident through her participation in conferences like "She Recovers in LA." Additionally, Mary is a proud member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), further solidifying her dedication to the field.
